Part-time Administrative Assistant Bedford County Finance Department
The Bedford County Finance Department is currently seeking applications for a Part-Time Administrative Assistant. This is the perfect opportunity for a highly-qualified individual who wants a part-time, flexible schedule.
Job Responsibility Highlights include:
Reviews requisitions for accurate coding, signatures and budget availability.
Processes purchase orders to include accurate data entry, obtaining necessary signatures and distribution to requestor and accounts payable.
Maintains county-wide contract, lease and insurance files.
Prepares, publicizes and receives requests for proposal (RFPs) and bids.
Reviews/proofs various documents including budgets, meeting minutes, legal notices, financial reports, etc.
Types, drafts, prepares or completes various reports, forms, correspondence, lists and other documents.
Receipts/tracks payments from various departments.
Provides general/financial support to the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of an Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or closely related field; supplemented by three (3) years previous experience and/or training that includes experience involving government accounting, budgeting, general accounting, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job
Excellent data entry, 10-key and grammar skills, as well as knowledge of computer software including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
State of Tennessee Notary Public certification, or ability to obtain such
Effective communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability to research and understand complex and written materials
Ability to prepare organizational and functional reports from research data
Ability to prioritize duties to accomplish a high volume of work product while adapting to constant changes in priority
